About Tyson Betts
I build the dashboards that go into these conversions.
Then I sell you the truck.
The short version
I'm Tyson Betts. I've worked on Ford Super Duty right-hand drive conversions since 2019, I've had a hand in somewhere around sixty to seventy vehicles in the last year alone, and I started Betts Works in June 2026.
Betts Works is the dealer. SCD is the converter. I work in the conversion side of that business, which is why I can source the same range SCD can, and why I can tell you exactly what happens to your truck between the American dealership and your driveway.
How I got here
I started at SCD Direct in July 2019, washing vehicles before they went into the workshop. That was the job, and it's where you find out whether you actually want to be there.
From washing I moved to stripping vehicles down and preparing them for conversion. I wanted to understand more than the one part of the process I'd been handed, so I started a Certificate III in Engineering apprenticeship through SCD and worked my way through every stage of it.
By the time I finished that apprenticeship in October 2022 I could take a vehicle through a complete conversion on my own. Disassembly and reassembly, electrical wiring, component modification, fabrication, firewall engineering. All of it.
Then I left. I spent about a year in mining, which sharpened the trade side in a way a workshop doesn't, and from August 2023 to June 2025 I moved into management. Leadership, planning, problem solving, running people, understanding how a business works from the operational side rather than the tools.
Cars brought me back.
What I do at SCD now
I build the complete dashboards used in SCD's right-hand drive conversions.
The dash is the most important part of a conversion, and it's the part most people never think about until they're sitting in one. It's what you look at every time you get in. It's what you reach for. It's where a conversion either feels like the truck Ford built or feels like something that was cut apart and put back together.
Getting it right is fabrication, wiring, fit and finish, all in a space that was designed around a steering wheel on the other side.
So when I tell you how your truck gets converted, I'm not repeating something a supplier told me. I know how these vehicles arrive, how they're pulled apart, how they're engineered, how they go back together for Australian roads, and what a good one looks like compared to one that was rushed.
Why I started Betts Works
I'd been in this industry long enough to see customers who didn't get the communication, the transparency or the ongoing support I thought they deserved.
That's it. That's the whole reason.
I want you to understand exactly what you're buying, where the vehicle is coming from, what's involved in getting it here, and what you're paying for. All of it, before you commit, not discovered afterwards.
Be honest. Be transparent. Look after the customer.
What happens after you get the keys
The handover is where most of these relationships stop. I don't want that to be how mine work.
I'm building Betts Works into somewhere you come back to. For your next vehicle, for upgrades and accessories, for help with servicing, for sourcing something specific, or just to ask a question about your truck without being sold anything.
An American pickup, a performance car, a classic, or something genuinely hard to find. If you want it, I'd like to be the one you ring.
Where I fit
Betts Works
The dealer. Sourcing, purchase, importing, delivery to you.
SCD
The converter. Right-hand drive conversion and compliance.
Me
I work in the conversion side, and I build the dashboards.
SCD is its own dealer and converter as well. I'm a separate dealer using them for conversion, which means I can offer the same range they can, built to what you actually want.
Talk to me
I'd rather have the conversation early than sell you something at the end of one. If you're thinking about an American truck and you don't know where to start, that's the call to make.
